We Are Off To Mexico

I just wanted to give you an update on all the craziness that has been happening at our house lately. We are leaving for our cruise to Mexico tomorrow and we are so excited. Especially after all the snow we have gotten the last 2 weeks.

We are remodeling the kitchen and it has turned out to be quite the project. Here is a picture of the little helpers, I will post before and after pictures when we finish.

This was our first sledding trip of the year. We went up to the ski hill with some friends last Sunday (before Christmas). The kids had a blast.

Visiting Santa

Christmas Morning!

Chantz went to a .22 rifle shooting competition on Saturday. He did very well. He won first place and won a cabelas sleeping bag. He loves to shoot.

Happy 8th Birthday!

That sure is a handsome boy!
The two dorks messing around!

Sage & Noelle

Birthday girls!

What a little poser!

I a little late posting this....Sage's birthday was on December 6th!

NO, NO, NO! I can't believe my little girl is 8 (going on 18). It is amazing to me what a wonderful and smart little girl she is! (I might be a little bias) She definitely keeps us all in line. Her best friend Noelle's birthday in the day after Sage's so this year Heather (Noelle's Mom) and I decided we would have a joint birthday party. We took them and 6 other girls to Klamath Falls (2 hour drive) ice skating. I have to say it was eventful but very fun! Weston was the clown of the ice skating rink of course! We really did have a blast! Happy birthday my sweet girl!

Decorating the Tree

We have made it tradition to decorate the tree on Sage's Birthday every year...so of course that is what we did. I think I am getting much more relaxed in my old age. It used to be that my tree had to be perfectly decorated with a theme and all, but over the last few years since the kids have been big enough to really get into the whole tree decorating thing that has changed. I really enjoy watching them decorate the tree pulling our all the ornaments that they have made over the years saying "oh I remember this". So it doesn't bother me anymore that the ornaments are usually all in one spot and only as high as they can reach. What is the neatest thing to me is all the ornaments that they have made the decorate the tree (oh I think I feel a tear). Anyway that really have a good time with all the decorating!

Starting the Colts!

Chantz on Blondie, Sage on Uno, and Gramps on Senorita
Well if this picture isn't a tender moment I don't know what !

Sage getting her first lesson from Gramps

Chantz and Gramps doing what they do best!

The only sad thing about me going to Utah was that I missed out on a big proud mom moment! Chantz and his Gramps started the yearling colts! Chantz was the first one to ride Uno (the yearling gelding). My boy is growing up ...he is now starting colts! I am soooo proud....he is the same age as I was the first time I started a colt all by myself. He called me when I was on my way home to give me the big news! Of course I just started bawling (I would say crying tears of joy, but I was bawling). Then my dad called to see if Chantz had given me the big news. He told me how good he did and he asked Chantz what he thought his mom would think. Chantz said, "oh she will just cry." Dad said, "why?" Chantz said, "because she will be so proud of me." Dad said, "well I'm proud of you and I'm not crying." Chantz said, "I know but she is just like that."
Does my son know me or what!
Well this lit a fire in Sage I guess! We went over to gramps today and she was helping with all the horses and told gramps she wanted to ride one of the colts! I have to admit this made me a little nervous. I asked her what she was going to do if she fell off and she said get back on! I said ok then. I asked her if she was nervous and she answered immediately NO, I'm excited! She acted like she was 10 foot tall and bullet proof. Gramps rode Uno first and then he put Sage's saddle on. She was smiling ear to ear and she did fantastic. Gramps moved the horses around the round pen and Uno kicked up a couple of times....didn't even phase her. It was one of the neatest moments in my life seeing both my kids riding colts with their gramps!

Girls Weekend!

Sage, Kanyon, and Graycee!

Sage and Kyzlee...look at those big brown eyes!

This is Sage on the plane with Nikki...she was so excited that it was Nikki's first airplane ride!

Sage and I decided to run away for a few days! We flew to Salt Lake to visit. We had a great time. It is just amazing how big all the cousins have gotten. We haven't seen them for almost a year. Kanyon is still his goofy funny self and Graycee and Kyzlee have gotten so big. Skyler.... I still can't get used to seeing him without his glasses. Kierra came out to see us this summer so she hasn't changed too much since I last seen her. She does have a really cute new haircut! Kelli got to make the trek from Wyoming to see us.....it was so good to see her. Toree got to come but Cole and Lainee had to stay home for school :-(
Anyway it was great to visit with everyone and we had a really great time!

HALLOWEEN

Here are some pictures from Halloween. Sage won the costume contest at the Carnival and Chantz got second. They had alot of fun.
We dressed up at work this year....so Kelli let me borrow this FABULOUS costume. To make it even better my dad called and asked if I would take his motor home in to get the windshield replaced. So there we went off to school and work....as FABULOUS Granny who lost her dog! I pulled up to the school where the buses usually drop the kids off. We were a little early so there was quite a few kids standing outside the school waiting for them to unlock the doors. As I pulled up all the kids were really looking like they were trying to figure out who this crazy lady was that pulled up to the school. Then Chantz opened the side door of the RV to get out and a bunch of kids yelled "Chantz". Sage is soooo embarrassed she saying "go mom go you can leave now!" I was laughing so hard....you should have seen the looks I got driving down the street. For the first time Sage didn't want me to help with a party in her class. She said she would be too embarrassed! I kept telling her that I was going to come to her class just to give her a BIG kiss from her Granny. She didn't think that was funny at all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WESTON!!!

It was Weston's birthday yesterday. The kid came downstairs first thing and greeted him with a birthday song and dance! We decided it is just the best when the kids get big enough to remember your birthday without having to be reminded. Anyway Sage made him the sweetest card at school and we made dinner and had ice cream cake. Sage took it upon herself to be his servant for the night! It was fun!

Carving Pumpkins!

Sunday the kids carved their pumpkins. They did everything all my themselves...no help from us. It was really cute to see them helping each other and having so much fun. I have to say they did a pretty good job. Probably because they didn't have there mom nagging them the whole time. I am really trying to work on the nagging thing. I just gave them the stuff put them out on the porch patio table and said go for it! Chantz's is a scarecrow in case you can't tell from the picture!

Sandwich Anyone?

I just found this picture from a couple of weeks ago. Sage decided that she was going to make lunch for everyone. She said I know dad likes lots of Miracle Whip......I walk into the kitchen as she is making her dad sandwich and this is what I found! How about some bread with that Miracle Whip? I laughed so hard!

Soccer Sage

Sage started playing soccer this year and she LOVES it. She says it is not as boring as baseball. She is really pretty good at it. She caught on real quick. One problem was her first game she had the ball and another little boy came up and was trying to get the ball and she just gave him a dirty look and a big shove!! Of course Weston was really proud of that....I told her she can't be a bad sport and Weston said yes you can, just don't make it so obvious and get caught. Not surprising coming from Weston huh! Anyway tomorrow is her last game so hopefully I will get some better pics.

Why Parents Drink

I thought this was so funny I had to post it...............

Why Parents Drink

The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees was absent but had not phoned in sick one day. Needing to have an urgent problem with one of the main computers resolved, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.
"Hello"
''Is your daddy home?" he asked.
"Yes," whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?"

The child whispered, "No."
Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"
"Yes"
''May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No"
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy," whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
'' Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.
Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?''
"A helicopter" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.
Again, whispering, the child answered, "The search team just landed a helicopter."
Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle... "ME"

Chantz at Ranch Roping Clinic

Chantz is on the left and that is Weston on the heifer.

Chantz has been working hard the last couple of months trying to earn $200 for his entry fee for the Ranch Roping Clinic a friend of my dads was having at his house. He has been doing extra chores around here and working extra helping gramps and grams. He was down to the wire earning the last $20 cleaning peoples corrals and horse trailers at my dads clinic the day before. He was so excited that he got to do it. He had a good time. Weston was in the clinic too, and had a blast! Chantz could tell you the name of all the roping shots, but I can't remember them all. I just know that his favorite is the Scoop Loop which is the shot he is throwing in the last picture.
