I thought this was so funny I had to post it...............
Why Parents Drink
The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees was absent but had not phoned in sick one day. Needing to have an urgent problem with one of the main computers resolved, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a child's whisper.
"Hello"
''Is your daddy home?" he asked.
"Yes," whispered the small voice.
"May I talk with him?"
The child whispered, "No."
Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, "Is your Mommy there?"
"Yes"
''May I talk with her?"
Again the small voice whispered, "No"
Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, "Is anybody else there?"
"Yes," whispered the child, "a policeman."
Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked, "May I speak with the policeman?"
"No, he's busy," whispered the child.
"Busy doing what?"
'' Talking to Daddy and Mommy and the Fireman," came the whispered answer.
Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, "What is that noise?''
"A helicopter" answered the whispering voice.
"What is going on there?" demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.
Again, whispering, the child answered, "The search team just landed a helicopter."
Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, "What are they searching for?"
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle... "ME"

Chantz at Ranch Roping Clinic
Chantz has been working hard the last couple of months trying to earn $200 for his entry fee for the Ranch Roping Clinic a friend of my dads was having at his house. He has been doing extra chores around here and working extra helping gramps and grams. He was down to the wire earning the last $20 cleaning peoples corrals and horse trailers at my dads clinic the day before. He was so excited that he got to do it. He had a good time. Weston was in the clinic too, and had a blast! Chantz could tell you the name of all the roping shots, but I can't remember them all. I just know that his favorite is the Scoop Loop which is the shot he is throwing in the last picture.
Hair Update
I forgot that I was supposed to post a picture of the results of Weston coloring my hair. So I had Chantz take some pictures. First he took a picture outside and I was SHOCKED...my hair looked kind of red. Then I had him take the picture in the house and it looked dark again. So anyway I'm not sure what my hair looks like! Kelli don't be surprised if I just happen to show up on your doorstep someday. Weston thinks he is now a professional and compliments me on my hair way more that he ever has. He says things like "wow your hair looks REALLY good, who did it, they did a GREAT job." This confidence is scaring me just a little.

Fancy...Pig Farmer

As some of you know last year Chantz caught a pig in the greased pig contest at the fair. Well it has become a main event at our house. So today we headed back to the fair especially for this event. And boy did I get the surprise of my life. Both of them caught pigs...yes SAGE caught a pig. It didn't surprise me that Chantz would, but when I seen Sage dive on that pig I nearly had a heart attack! As you can see from the picture Chantz clearly caught the pig, but the girl sitting behind him has a hold of one of the pigs legs....so there was controversy over whose pig is was. The people that were helping were trying to convince the girl that Chantz clearly had the pig, but she wasn't hearing any of it. Now my son being the gentleman that he is told the girl she could just have it because his sister already caught one. I was proud and disappointed at the same time. Weston was just mad! You can see who the gentleman is in our family! Anyway I was proud of him for being considerate even though I think he was a little disappointed himself. All will be well... he will be getting a pig soon anyway since he is going to raise one and show it at the stock show this year. Oh I almost forgot...Sage named her pig Fancy:-) Never thought we would be pig farmers!!
First Day of School

I can't believe my son is in 4th grade and my baby girl is in 2nd grade! They are at the age that it is not COOL to have your mom take your picture at school. Never thought I would enjoy being that embarrassing mom so much..ha ha! As you can see they were not happy about the pictures at school. Chantz absolutely refused to have his picture taken in his classroom and as you can see Sage wasn't thrilled about it(which is funny considering she ALWAYS wants her picture taken). I just had to laugh about it so I didn't cry because they are growing up so fast. So here we go with another year of school!

Modoc County Fair
Today was the horse show at the our fair. Chantz and Sage did SOOO good. I am so proud of them. They both rode Tabu, because gramps was showing Chantz's horse Pedro in Elko. We love Tabu they truely don't get much better than him! It was Sages first time showing and she won 1st in one western pleasure class and 3rd in her other western pleasure class that had about 20 kids in it for ages 13 and under. Chantz won 3rd in western equitation 13 and under and there was about 20 kids in that class too. Chantz also showed in the stock horse class that was for ages 19 and under. He WON 2nd!!! out of about 16 in the class. I am beyond proud of them. For the last month they have been getting up at 5:30 or 6:00 am so they could ride before it gets to hot. It's amazing how well hard work and practice pay off. They are very pleased with themselves ... oh and did I mention their PROUD mom! Today was also the first day of school....needless to say we know where our priorities are...HORSE SHOW. Who starts school on the first day of the fair anyway! The school called Westons cell phone because it was an unexcused absence (why they called him is beyond me) he told them that they were running a fever....FAIR FEVER...I thought I was going to die laughing. I can't believe he told them that. As if they shouldn't have known half the school wasn't there today and there was a bunch of controversy about the fair and first day of school being the same day. Besides I told their teachers they wouldn't be there today.....give me a break!
